What a licence actually is
Worth understanding, because it explains why the app keeps working in places other software does not.
A signed line of text
Your key carries the facts of the sale and a signature. Both apps carry the matching key that can check that signature but cannot create one — so your licence is verified on your own device, with no internet, in no time at all.
Checked online once a day
When you have a connection, the app confirms the licence has not been cancelled and that it is not in use on more devices than it covers. If you are offline for a month, nothing happens: it simply carries on.
Your records are never held hostage
Whatever is wrong with a licence — expired, cancelled, uncheckable — you can always open DebitMate, read everything and export it. Losing access to your own bank history because of a billing problem is not a thing we are willing to build.
